3D rendering

Rendering a virtual prototype drastically save time and money in any wetsuit development process to fine-tune the neoprene color and printing choices. It also helps to sort out the design misguided choices, showing how the wetsuit would look as a finished product. During our exchanges with our customers, it often happens that we propose 15 to 20 different colour proposals to help Product Managers to get some feedbacks from their sales agent, retailers and customers about which wetsuit would fit their requirements. On the other hand, this...

3D Wetsuit Engineering

Engineering and Design cannot be dissociated. Developing an innovative design without having in mind its feasibility in term of pattern making and industrial production is a waste of time, as far as we’re not talking there of Prospective Design. No need to develop a great looking wetsuit if its pattern making is unattainable, meaning Fit & Feel would make such wetsuit concept out of interest. Designers and pattern makers often argue about innovating designs saying  » it cannot be done ». Mixing Design and...

3D sketching

When we start designing a new wetsuit concept, we directly work on 3D with our virtual mannequins, keeping in mind the customers’ morphology and the ability to flatten our design properly, for the next cutting, gluing and stitching steps. Having designed in 2D for a while, we know how frustrating it can be to try to express ourselves with 2D artworks, especially when we see how developed those 3D technologies can be for any other industry than textile. We’ve gone through all the CAD systems available on the market in order to...
